Kick off the summer biking season and enjoy a great day at Swedish Covenant Hospital’s Summer Social! The fest features fun for the whole family, including music, entertainment and food trucks. Swedish Covenant Hospital will provide 1,000 FREE bike helmets, Chicago Bike Ambassadors will conduct helmet fittings and community partners will help promote summer health and safety at a fun festival.
“We are taking this bold step to improve the safety of children and adults who bike throughout our community,” said Anthony Guaccio, President and CEO of Swedish Covenant Hospital. “Our doctors have long recognized the importance of bike safety and wearing helmets to prevent injuries. We want all cyclists to have a safe summer.”
Admission is FREE so bring the whole family to the Summer Social on Saturday, June 10th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m for:
• Free bike helmets (for the first 1,000 attendees) provided by Swedish Covenant Hospital
• Helmet fittings by Chicago Bike Ambassadors
• Entertainment: Music and dance performances
• Bounce houses
• Face painter and balloon artist
• Helmet decorating station and other kid’s activities
• Summer safety giveaways and raffle prizes
• Bike safety tips
• Food trucks
• And more!
Hop on your bikes and join the fun (rain or shine) in the Galter LifeCenter parking lot, 5115 N. Francisco Ave. on Swedish Covenant Hospital’s campus in Lincoln Square. There is a big bike rack and also a DIVVY station onsite.
Free garage parking is available just south of 5140 N. California.
