DescriptionLaguna Beach is a protected marine reserve, so no motorized boats are allowed in or out of our waters. This allows our tidepools to be alive and fresh, and our waters to be very pristine, while providing the educational experience of exploring tidepools. Sealife that is easy to spot includes: hermit and shore crabs, sea anemones, black turban snails, limpets, barnacles and sea lettuce. They can be seen at low tide, so stop by the Laguna Beach Visitors Center to pick up a tide chart. Heisler Park Marine Reserve and Treasure Island are two popular tidepooling sites. Tidepooling at Crescent Bay also lets you see and hear seals barking from a nearby rock, Seal Rock.
