Other Destinations Near Haines To Visit


Haines, in conjunction with Skagway, Whitehorse and Juneau constitute the Golden Circle Route. Throughout the summer months daily ferry service is available between Haines and Skagway. A day trip to Juneau departing out of Haines is a great option on the Fjord Express. Sail down in the morning and look for whales. Once in Juneau a stop at the Mendenhall Glacier is included as well as a tour of town. Plan a flight into Gustavus for the night and enjoy a day cruise into Glacier Bay. Head to Haines Junction, Yukon and explore the Kluane National Park and Preserve, on your way out of town via the Haines Highway National Scenic Byway stop by the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Continue your drive to Whitehorse, capital of the Yukon Territory, offering you museums and outdoor adventuers, round trip from Haines is 480 miles.
