From motorsports to merlot, the Charlotte area features nearby destinations perfect for a quick day trip outside of the city. Race on over to the Charlotte Motor Speedway just north of Charlotte in Concord, N.C., for a look at the legendary 1.5 mile superspeedway that hosts three premier NASCAR events throughout the year and is home to the world's largest HD-TV screen.
