Description | The Great Passion Play
Since 1968, over 7.6 million people have seen The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Tucked away in the picturesque Ozark Mountains, the amphitheater transports you over 2,000 years ago to witness the majesty of Jesus Christ’s life, betrayal, death, and glorious resurrection. A cast of over 140 actors and dozens of birds and animals perform the Play on a set built into the hillside. The set is three-stories-tall and 550 feet across - the size of two football fields. Yet each of the 4,000 seats is close enough for you to clearly see and hear the Greatest Story Ever Told.
The Christ of the Ozarks Statue
The Christ of the Ozarks Statue stands an awe-inspiring 67 feet with an arm span of 65 feet. Since 1967, the giant figure has overlooked the Victorian village of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The inspiring image of the seven-story statue may be seen from the village’s historic district below. Every inch of the remarkable sculpture was built by hand. No poured segments were used in the statue's construction. At an altitude of 1500 feet, the statue is made of 24 layers of white mortar on a steel frame and weighs over two million pounds. The foundation, which is virtually welded into the rock of the mountain, required 340 tons of concrete interlaced with steel. During construction, the framework of the statue was completely surrounded by scaffolding. Workers had to build an elevator up the side of the framework in order to reach the statue's higher segments.
Bible Museum
With over 7,000 Bibles in 625 languages and dialects, along with a large collection of parchments, the Bible Museum is one of the most visited and impressive of its kind. Among the most important artifacts include: an original 1611 King James Bible, a page of the Gutenberg Bible (only 47 are in existence today), the first Cherokee Bible, an 1898 Bible signed by all of the original Gideons (the only one of its kind), an artifact from 4,000 BC, and numerous others.
Sacred Arts Center

In fact, there are over 1,000 works of art in 64 different forms, making it one of the most expansive collections of Christ-centered art. Along with classic masterpieces, the Center showcases art by contemporary Christian artists, such as Jack Dawson.
