Brief DescriptionNatural Hot Springs, cafe, saloon and campground
DescriptionNorris Hot Springs is a must stop on any tour through Montana. On the way to Yellowstone, Virginia City, just outside Ennis and Bozeman, all roads lead to this magical natural hotsprings. Norris is unique in providing a wooden pool for soaking. This centuries old stop is now home to an organic cafe, serving produce grown on site or sourced locally. The No Loose Dogs Saloon serves regional microbrews and a wide selection of beer and wine. In the summer, the 50 Mile Grill serves bison, beef, chicken and more - all sourced from organic/sustainable farmers and ranchers - ensuring nothing you eat comes from further away than 50 miles!

The pool is kept regulated by a system of sprayers as the water bubbles up from the ground at over 120 degrees. This little oasis, a half hour outside of Bozeman, offers the perfect opportunity to soak in mineral rich water while enjoying a natural wetland view of abundant wildlife and birds. Common visitors include bald eagles, hawks, a wide variety of blackbirds, bluebirds, lazuli buntings, and a returning pair of sandhill cranes. They join the plentiful deer, antelope and beavers that roam near the property's wetland areas.

The garden at Norris Hot Springs and it's greenhouse is a spectacular testament to living off the grid. Using natural spring water for watering, the garden provides much of the salad greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, potatoes, carrots, asparagus and herbs of all kinds. The little red house at the entry is the kitchen, where all meals are prepared. You'll notice the large solar panels on top of this building as you enter and ask any staff member to show you a panels in the walls where the No Loose Dogs Saloon utilized radiant heat from the abundant natural hot water gurgling up from the ground.

Hot water pipes in the floor also heat the stage - the Dome you see as you enter the property. Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Norris Hot Springs, the Poolside Stage provides the best in local and touring acoustic music. This is a very popular spot with families, couples and students - where else can one enjoy a brew, soak in hot water and have a delicious meal delivered to you poolside while you listen to music? If you know of anywhere else - do let us know!

The campground opened in 2012. Currently there are nine full service and four primitive sites, all with privacy and a unique view of the wetland. Just down the road is the "put in" spot for the very popular float on the mild Madison River. While floating down the gentle Madison on an innertube you will pass fly fishing enthusiasts that come from all over the world to fish this river. After a day of floating, a soak in the hot springs with dinner and music is the perfect end of the day.

Yellowstone Park is nearby, as are the Lewis and Clark Caverns, the Madison River, the historic ghost towns of Virginia City and Nevada City, where you can still pan for gold and rubies, and see melodrama through the summer. Ennis is the closest town to Norris and offers world class fly fishing shops, restaurants and in the summer, a rodeo. Bozeman offers much for all ages, from the world class dinosaur collection at the Museum of the Rockies to the historic downtown offering nightlife, shopping and restaurants.
