Reviews for MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry)

| * | This place is terrible. The museum is dirty and boring. The prices are higher now, $20+ and the classes are bad too. Don't waste your time or money here. | Female between 26 and 55 | 04-10-07 |
| **** | I have lived in tampa my entire life. i'm just looking for tourist attraction ideas for some friends that are coming down.
I used to take summer camps at mosi when i was younger. I have loved that place since i stepped into it the first day. i was there recently for my ex boyfriends little sisters birthday party, and it was still as fun as it was before, with new additions to the museum. if you or your kids like science, this is a really fun place to take them =] | Female under 25 | 06-07-07 |
| **** | The best part at MOSI was when the Titanic exhibit was there, also when the Murder Mystery exhibit was there! Other than that it never really changes or updates, the Imax is great though! | Female between 26 and 55 | 03-29-08 |
| * | I was excited to take my grandchildren to the new Kids Learning Center. It was a major disappointment. There were crowds of shreiking kids from day camp which was a free for all with the volunteers appearing to be relieved to let them run wild unattended. No one from MOST found it important to contain the chaos for other guests. Many of the tools were broken. A few of the activities turned out to be interesting - the brain teaser puzzles and the shadow room. Again, not pleasant with children gone wild.
We headed to the planetarium for the 3 o'clock show with hopes of gaining some return on my $100 investment. No one was there and none of the museum's volunteers had a clue as to why the show was not being offered although it was listed as an event on the well-developed webspace. No signs, apologies, etc. Ah, maybe the dinosaur exhibit will be enjoyable. Yawn. About 10 mechanical dinosaurs in a very small exhibit. If MOSI would spend more of the money it uses on marketing to freshen up the old exhibits or get rid of them and develop some worthwhile ones it would be more useful. Best part of MOSI so far is the IMAX theatre (extra cost - $5 for a membership that includes the theatre.)
Compared to other museums across the country, this was very disappointing. | Female older than 55 | 07-19-08 |
