Based on true events, 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips reveals a little known story of a British coastal village evacuated by American GI’s during WWII and a touching friendship between an English girl and two American soldiers.
This tender coming-of-age tale uncovers the secrets behind World War II’s D-Day landings. With a live onstage swing band, enchanting puppetry and Kneehigh’s signature stage sorcery. Director Emma Rice conjures a story of love, war and prejudice that crosses borders both geographical and generational. Based on the beloved book by War Horse author Michael Morpurgo, 946 explodes everything we thought we knew about the D-Day landings in this tender tale of love and war.
