Description | The Lucy Desi Center for Comedy offers three great year-round attractions to visitors in Lucille Ball's home of Jamestown, NY.
Desilu Studios:
Jamestown's Desilu Studios displays exact replicas of the "I Love Lucy" television studio sets including the Ricardos' NYC apartment living room and kitchen and the Hollywood hotel suite where Lucy pantomimed with Harpo Marx and set her nose on fire with William Holden. Also featured are original costumes, props, and awards from I Love Lucy.
The Lucy Desi Museum:
Following the opening of its doors in 1996, thousands of visitors from around the world enjoyed the original Museum in Lucille Ball's hometown. The Center tripled in size in 2008 and offers a tremendous expansion of the visitor's experience.
Through the generosity of Lucie Aranaz and Desi Arnaz, Jr., the Museum maintains a significant collection of their parents' personal belongings. Costumes, gowns, photographs, letters, scripts, and awards are among the memorabilia on display.
This tribute to The First Couple of Comedy features beautiful, larger-than-life wall panels describing the lives of these passionate, talented people. You'll see Lucille Ball's 1972 gold Mercedes-Benz, a gift to the Museum from her son-in-law, Laurence Luckinbill. Multiple screening opportunities offer insight into these international icons throughout their extensive careers. |
