| Description | Ohio Caverns is the largest and most beautiful of all Ohio caves. Exquisite white stalactites and stalagmites are on display in an artistic natural setting, puncuated by unexcelled colors caused by trace amounts of several minerals. Almost all the formations are still in the process of growing. Still photography is welcomed. Many conveniences are provided for your comfort and recreation in a well manicured 35 acre park. Picnic tables and shelter buildings, a souvenir and gift shop, gemstone mining and large playground are just some of the amenities offered.
The cavern tour is an easy 1 mile walk with a guide. It takes almost an hour and is always a pleasant 54 degrees. Special rates are available to schools and other large groups, with advance reservations. |
