DescriptionSusan B. Anthony, tireless campaigner for human rights, lived in this house at 17 Madison Street, in Rochester, New York, from 1866 until her death in 1906. In between her travels working for woman suffrage, she was here—writing, planning, and organizing. It was here that Anthony was arrested for voting in 1872, here that she met and planned with other famous reformers, and here that Anthony helped write the monumental History of Woman Suffrage.

Come and visit her home, now part of the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House. Located within a mile of downtown Rochester, you’ll find that the Museum is a wonderful place to learn about Susan B. Anthony and her work as an abolitionist, educational reformer, labor activist, temperance worker, suffragist, and human rights campaigner. Hear her story and gain insight into this woman who stands as one of the world’s great revolutionaries and visionaries. Leave inspired and re-energized to continue Anthony’s unfinished work.
