DescriptionVisit what Theodore Roosevelt called the "eighth wonder of the world McArthur Burney Falls State Park. The most spectacular feature of the park itself, located in the beautiful evergreen forests of the Pit River country, is Burney Falls. The never-changing water volume over the falls is what makes it so unusual. A short hike down to the falls provides great photo opportunities, a chance to view wildlife, and feel the cool refreshing spray of the falls. The park also features a campground, cabins, picnic sites, trails and other facilities with two miles of frontage along Burney Creek and nearby Lake Britton, where one can swim, fish boat and water-ski. When visiting McArthur-Burney Falls State Park don't miss your chance to explore the beautiful Fall River Valley. This area is home to abundant wildlife, produces diverse agricultural products, has countless recreational opportunities and supports a community that offers small town comforts. Fall River Mills is famous for producing 25% of the world's wild rice.
