Description | City of Rocks National Reserve sponsors the Jim Sage Christmas Bird Count (a survey circle within the 119th Annual CBC organized by the National Audubon Society) to contribute to the monitoring and scientific understanding of the local ecosystem. Birds are exceptional indicators of natural resource health and trends. Birders and members of the public that would like to learn identification skills are encouraged to participate in this free activity. Binoculars are provided. Meet at the City of Rocks Visitor Center at 7:30 a.m. Participants will carpool and caravan to hotspots along the 50-mile driving route. Free Event, no experience required.
