Type | Attraction |
Category | New Mexico Museum |
Description | The Holocaust & Intolerance Museum of New Mexico was founded by a Holocaust survivor and his wife. It has become the institute they envisioned: a place where visitors learn about, in addition to the Holocaust, the Armenian and Greek genocides, the mistreatment of Native Americans, slavery in America, and the "tolerated" genocide in Rwanda. Several thousand school children (age 10 and up) visit each year. For them and for other visitors as well, docents connect the dots between bullying and man's inhumanity to man. No one leaves unchanged. |
