Description | Dubbed "America's Favorite Drive, The Blue Ridge Parkway follows the Appalachian Mountains for 469 miles in Virginia and North Carolina. The Parkway provides some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, ranging from 650 to 6,000 feet in elevation. About 220 miles of the Parkway is located in Virginia, including a portion through Bedford and Amherst Counties. The Blue Ridge Parkway attracts nearly 17 million visitors a year, making it the most visited unit in the United States National Park System. |
