Descriptionhe Black History Bee will take place in February in celebration of Black History Month. This fun filled day consists of presentations by author, poet, screenwriter & educator Terry a O’Neal. She will share her works of poetry and fiction with McClatchy High School students. There will be raffles drawn throughout the day and prizes for students who are interested in sharing some of their creative works.

The Highlight of the Day!

Students will also have an opportunity participate in Terry a O’Neal’s BLACK HISTORY BEE, where students will be tested on their trivia knowledge of African American history and the magnificent contributions that African Americans and people of African descent have given to our society, and to the world.

The last student standing will receive a basket filled with gift certificates, cash prizes, a Black History t-shirt, a Black History Bee Plaque and much, much more. There will also be two runner-up prize winners.

Learning about African American history provides us with a sense of
knowledge, culture, pride, and inspiration that allows us to truly
reach our potential.
