The key ingredient that distinguishes the Lone Star Flight Museum from other aviation museums is that the airplanes are still alive. A visit to our flight line during flight operations is the perfect way to experience the sights, sounds and smells of America’s airpower heritage. Imagine a WWII airfield with hundreds of bombers or fighters as they prepare for another mission. Today, only few airworthy examples remain of these historic machines that defended freedom across the globe.
The Lone Star Flight Museum is also home to the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame. Recognized by the Texas Legislature, the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame honors the heroes and pioneers of aviation. Housed in the Hall of Fame’s Education Center are 57 displays presenting each inductee’s experiences and contributions to aviation.
