Description of this Palm Beaches area Attraction: When it was completed in 1902, Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach, was hailed by the New York Herald as "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world." Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Flagler Museum, featuring guided tours, changing exhibits, and special programs. Holiday Concert with Violins in Motion at Flamingo Gardens, Dec 20, 2009 - Next Month

Description of this Palm Beaches area Event: Included with admission to the gardens and wildlife sanctuary, get into the holiday spirit with a very special holiday concert presented by Violins in Motion on Sunday, December 20 at 1pm. A Suzuki music group, the musicians range in age from 4 to 64. They have performed numerous concerts at the Broward Center for Performing Arts, the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Morikami Japanese Gardens, SOS Children's Village, Gilda's home for children's cancer treatment, and many nursing homes, hospitals, malls, on the beach and at local attractions. This January they have been invited to play at Downtown Disney.
Flamingo Gardens, botanical collections and Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary, 3750 S Flamingo Road, Davie (between I-595 and Griffin Road), open 9:30-5:00 (closed Christmas Day). Admission is $17 ages 12 and up, $8.50 children 4-11, children under 4 are free. The tour by tram is additional and runs on the hour from 11-4.
