Transportation
American Airlines, America West, Delta, Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Trans World and United all have regularly scheduled service to Sacramento International Airport. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, and National car rental agencies all have outlets at the airport. Many area hotels have courtesy vans. A plethora of high-priced tempting restaurants may lure you to overspend in Sacramento. However, travelers on a budget will be pleased to find outlets of many mid-priced chains in town. If possible take this trip on a weekday when the wineries are less crowded. From Sacramento take I-80 West to the CA-12 exit toward Napa/Sonoma. Merge onto Jamison Canyon Road, stay straight and pick up the Napa Vallejo Hwy. If you have a hankering for height, numerous hot air balloon companies offer airborne tours of the region. During the spring the wildflowers are delightful. No matter when you visit, even during the summer when the temperature soars, be certain to stuff your jacket in the car, evening temperatures are breezy and cool year round.
