Description | The Virginia Museum of Transportation is home to a nationally important collection of
transportation artifacts located in the historic Norfolk & Western freight station. On exhibit are the N&W Class J 611 and N&W Class A 1218 steam locomotives, each the only one of its class in existence today. We have multiple galleries dedicated to unique areas relating to Transportation. These galleries include carriages, wagons, aviation equipment, airplanes, a hot air balloon, a trolley bus, a 4-tiered O-gauge model train with multiple viewing levels and much more. We are constantly growing our collections, and are proud to showcase the rich rail and transportation heritage of the State of Virginia. |
