Pulaski County USA is home to the communities of Waynesville, Saint Robert, Fort Leonard Wood, Crocker, Dixon, Richland, Laquey, Devils Elbow, Duke and Swedeborg Missouri. The population of Pulaski County is approximately 53,000. Pulaski County is centrally located within Missouri along Interstate 44 and Historic Route 66. The area offers gorgeous scenery with meandering river ways that cut through the Ozark bluffs. Fishing, (goggle-eye and catfish), gentle float trips along the Gasconade and Big Piney rivers and trophy trout fishing along the Roubidoux River, and fantastic hunting make Pulaski County an outdoor enthusiasts dream.
Pulaski is also steeped in rich Mid-America history with opportunities to explore tourist attractions commemorating the Trail of Tears, Civil War, military history and the Mother Road of America; Route 66. Pulaski County Outfitters offer float trips along the Big Piney and Gasconade Rivers, enjoy a relaxing afternoon with nature and the beautiful Ozark scenery while floating along in a canoe, kayak, raft or inner tube. Toss in a line or take a break to swim along the way.
If you enjoy history, you will find it in Pulaski County! Visit the National Park Service Trail of Tears Memorial and Interpretive Trail, which also leads to the Roubidoux Spring and underwater cave. Visit downtown Waynesville and tour the 1903 Courthouse and Old Stagecoach Stop Museum's. Across the way you will also discover unique gift shows, antique stores, sweets, Missouri wines and 66 beers that are on tap. The Museums of Fort Leonard Wood offer state-of-the-art museum complex detailing the history of the Engineer, Military Police and Chemical Corp as well as a military vehicle display and WWII building complex where you can enter into barracks, supply offices and a mess hall. Crocker offers history on the Frisco Railroad featuring a museum and Caboose.
Those that love to kick around in antique shops and flea markets, Pulaski offers up an Antique and Sweet trail. Over 15 stops are included with details on local quilting supplies and treats to enjoy along the way.
Other activities include harvest farms that operate in the fall; pumpkin picking, games, corn maze, and petting zoos. Get your spook on by going through Haunted Hill, a haunted river float or participating in a paranormal investigation. During the holidays enjoy a trail of holiday lights; from the manger scene that can be seen from atop Bell's Bluff, the beauty of the Christmas lights gracing the Route 66 Devils Elbow bridge, to the jazzy Hilton House of Richland.

Pulaski County is very diverse, with people living and retiring in the area from all across the world. This is due to the influence of the military installation, Fort Leonard Wood. The county has grown significantly and now offers a wide variety of restaurants and cafe's. Dining options from authentic; Korean, Chinese, German, Italian, Greek, Caribbean and good 'ole Missouri BBQ!
Unique festivals such as Frogtober Fest (in honor of Frog Rock that over looks the town of Waynesville and Route 66!) Cowdays in Dixon (Yes, you do have a chance to win a cow!) Railroad Days of Crocker, National Truck Pull in Richland and the Pulaski County Fair and special events in Saint Robert. The MidAmerica Freedom Rally, held in Laquey, brings in over 3000 motorcycle enthusiasts for a huge, 4-day, outdoor concert and rally events. Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day are also very important to our communities for us to pay homage to our country, veterans and current military service members.

Pulaski County is rich in military history starting with the trials of the Cherokee nation. As they made way to Oklahoma they stopped and camped along the Roubidoux River, which features a beautiful memorial and interpretive walking trail designed by the National Park Service. The old Wire Road runs throughout the county which brought troops to the area, establishing a Fort in Waynesville. You can learn about this segment of history while visiting the Old Stagecoach Stop Museum, (which served as a hospital during the war), and the 1903 County Courthouse Museum. The Wire Road later became Historic Route 66 and Pulaski is proud to have 33 original miles of the Route with historic sites and new Route 66 attractions to entice and attract tourist's from all around the world.
Fort Leonard Wood was built in the 1940's and has become the premiere training installation offering basic training and career courses for Army Engineers, Military Police, Chemical Corp and cross training with Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guards. Attractions include the state-of-the-art military museum complex which is open to the public.

The Waynesville-St Robert Regional Airport, (airport code TBN), located on Fort Leonard Wood, offers daily service from St. Louis Lambert International Airport via Cape Air/American Airlines. Reservations may be made online or purchased at the ticket office located in Waynesville. A rental car agency is located at the airport and three other rental agencies are also available in the Saint Robert area. Springfield-Branson Airport is approximately 90 miles away. Public transportation consists of taxi cab services.

Pulaski County definitely enjoys all the seasons! Spring generally starts in late March with temperatures ranging 60-70 and evenings in the 30's. It starts warming up by May with June, July and August ranting in the upper 80's and 90's, evenings 70's. We do have temps that will range over 100 at times and Missouri does have humidity. Fall brings beautiful colors to our rolling hills and enjoyable fall days of 6-70's and crisp evenings dipping to the mid 30's and 40's. Winter varies dramatically with nice weather sprinkled with a few snow storms (generally 3-8 inches) and we are susceptible to one or two ice storms each season. Winter weather tends to follow the Interstate 44 corridor, feeding out of Oklahoma.

9 Resorts offer a variety of lodging options from cabin rentals along the river, camping and RV spots and teepee experiences. You will find 2 RV Parks located just off Interstate 44 to include an RV Park adjacent to the Magnuson Hotel.
Many folks choose to stay at vacation homes which are also available throughout the county and within city limits, along with a Bed & Breakfast located just off Route 66.
