Odessa can be found in the Permian Basin. Our city sister city is Midland which is just 20 miles away. Surrounding the two cities, there are several small towns. Odessa is known as the workforce of the Permian Basin. Odessa is a vibrant, energetic city in West Texas where the sky, literally, is the only limit. We have several museums, including the Ellen Noel Art Museum, The Parker Ranching House Museum, historical sites including the White Pool House and the Pecos Depot. Odessa is home to Summer Concert series, Hot Summer Nights on the lawn on Noel plaza.
The Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center is the brightest star in the West Texas sky. With an exterior design that combines local themes of geology and open sky, the Wagner Noël stands nearly 10 stories tall and is visible symbol of culture, education and achievement. It will expand your cultural horizons with a wide range of community and regional events - from Broadway tours to performing Symphonies to ballet, opera, and musical concerts.
