Area Overview

Mount Airy has smaller towns and cities as well as beautiful outdoor resources including mountains, parks, rivers, and ponds. Mount Airy also has the best trout fishing in North Carolina, especially along the Greenway Trails that follow the rivers around Mount Airy! We also have wonderful kayaking and canoeing opportunities nearby the downtown area! We have four distinct seasons and it is a great place for farming, gardening, and agriculture in general! We are located at the foot of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, with 3 state parks very close and 2 access points to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
