The Russian River offers beach access and sunbathing. Lake Sonoma has picnicking spots, houseboat rentals, camping, water skiing and fishing. River Rock Casino is open year round with a full service bar and restaurant. The Healdsburg Museum and Historical society has ongoing exhibits from Pomo Indian baskets to early settlers in the area. As the hub of three major wine growing regions Healdsburg has over 150 wineries open for touring and tasting, picnicking, wines sales, weddings and special events. Local small beer and cider producers offer tasting and tours. A short, scenic drive will take you to the California coast and the Pacific Ocean.

Sonoma County Airport is served by Alaska Air and Allegiant Airlines. There are daily flights to Los Angeles, San Diego, Portland and Seattle, and Las Vegas. Transportation is available to San Francisco Airport and also to Oakland Airport via shuttle. Local bus transportation connects Healdsburg to Santa Rosa and beyond. There is also in town bus service, taxis and a pedicab.
