Gaspésie is rightly designated as a recognized and sought-after destination in Québec's tourism history. Long renowned for the beauty of its commanding natural landscapes, the region attracts visitors from all four corners of the world. Initially valued by burgesses for the salmon fishing and the wide expanse of its resorts, it is rapidly becoming a first-class Québec travel destination. Located on the south side of the St. Lawrence, this peninsula, with its rugged but breathtaking landform, is the continuation of the Appalachian range. Caressed by the waves of both the estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, it is literally chiselled by multiple clear and fish-filled streams. It encompasses many parks and reserves, and its forests, beaches, cliffs and meadows form an immense sanctuary for fauna and flora. It is a true Garden of Eden, where one can absorb the natural beauty of the environment...

Gaspésie is gorgeous anytime of the year. In summer, attractions await the traveler throughout the Gaspésie and there are outdoor activities for every taste: hiking, karting, horseback riding, kayaking, scuba diving, sea excursions, … During fall, the flaming colors are attractive for the visitors and there are many outdoor activities to practice. In winter, Gaspésie has a whirlwind of activities through which the visitor will get a chance to sample what it has to offer : cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, overnight mountain hiking enthusiasts will get a taste of heaven.

In-Season Costs

Gaspésie offers everything from luxurious inns to bed & breakfasts or youth hostels. Admission fees for the activities, rates for a room and prices for dinner are always different depending what you visit or where you stay.

Average Seattle Weather

In summer, the temperature is warmer and average 9°C to 25°C. This warm temperature sometimes combines with humidity.

In autumn, it is the season of colors. The changing of the leaves transforms the nature landscapes to a real masterpiece. Autumn can surprise everyone with a peaceful weather between 5°C to 20°C.

In winter, the season is perfect for outdoor activities lovers. The average weather is minus 14°C to 0°C.

Spring is the maple syrup time. The average weather is around minus 2°C to 12°C.

It is suggested to prepare your luggages depending the season of the year. Even in summer time, always bring warm clothes, just in case.

Transportation

The Gaspé Peninsula begins in Sainte-Flavie, where Route 132 splits to form an itinerary loop of approximately 885 km. It is at this specific point that you must choose your route, either the South Tour or the North Tour. Both sides are amazing. Whatever your decision may be, all through your journey, you are sure to find the most diversified and picturesque sea, mountain landscapes, valleys, bays and coastlines. You can come in the region by car, by plane, by train or by bus.
