Average Hershey Weather Expect a white Christmas or at least some snow during the holiday season; December highs in Hershey hover in the low 40s with lows dipping into the mid-20s. December averages over three inches of precipitation. January is the coldest month with a mean average temperature of 27 degrees Fahrenheit. June, July and August are hot enough to melt lots of chocolate with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s. The spring and summer also see a lot of rainfall. Fall and spring are mild seasons. Year-round youll need your umbrella. Transportation Amtrak and Greyhound both provide service to Hershey. American, Continental, Delta Northwest, United, and USAir all fly to Harrisburg International Airport, only 15 minutes from Hershey. Many area hotels provide shuttle service to and from the airport. Thrifty, National, and Hertz all have airport outlets. You really need a car to negotiate the area unless you plan on staying at the Hershey Resort and not venturing out and about. In-Season Costs One Day Admission to Hersheypark is $34.95 for folks ages nine and up; adult admission to the Gardens is $6, a ride on the Hersheys Trolley will set you back $9.95 if you are between the ages of 13 and 61. During the height of tourist time even moderately nice hotel chains charge upwards of $150 per night --- the savvy traveler will check room rates and book well in advance of travel to get the best available price. While you can subsist on kisses, if you dine out at a moderately nice restaurant, expect to pay in the $25 range per person without wine. Of course, as kid friendly as the town is, youll also find some lower cost burger emporiums. Pennsylvania Tourism - Hershey Attractions, Activities and Day Trips Hershey is a sweet base city for a family road trip! After sampling the chocolate youll want to roam a bit. Hershey is a mere 30 minutes from the Pennsylvania Dutch country in Lancaster County. A 45-minute jaunt will land you in the historic Gettysburg Battlefield National Park. The PA State Capitol in Harrisburg is only a few minutes down the road.
