Old Capitol Museum Top Attraction!
A National Historic Landmark and one of America's finest examples of Greek Revival public architecture, the Old Capitol building served as the state capitol from 1839 to 1903, housing such notable events as the passage of the Ordinance of Secession. The Old Capitol was restored from 1959 to 1961 from the use as the state historical museum. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina damaged the building's roof and flooded the museum.
