Description | This historic Home has seen three centuries. It has unusual architecture in being a "Telescope House" form. Each room focuses on a different era of the home's history from builder and businessman Philip Fendall to last resident John L. Lewis, president of the President of the United Mine Workers Union. Special exhibits deal with the enslaved workers at the house, women's history, etc. Special events include Trivia Nights, Walking Tours, Focus Tours, Grief & Ghosts, and Victorian Christmas.
The historic home is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites for state significance and the Virginia Landmarks Register, and is a documented contributing feature to the National Historic Landmark District of Alexandria, Virginia. |
