| Description | WheatonArts is a national cultural treasure located on 65 scenic wooded acres in Millville, Cumberland County, in southern New Jersey. The Center is less than an hour from Philadelphia, Atlantic City and Cape May and easily accessible from the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, I-295, Routes 47, 49, 50 and 55.
With a history spanning four decades, WheatonArts has earned regional, national and international recognition for its unique collections and programs. WheatonArts is home to the Museum of American Glass with one of the most comprehensive collections of American glass in the world…from the first glass bottles made in America to celebrated works by Dale Chihuly and other contemporary artists who work in glass. The Education/Folklife Center, the largest in New Jersey, presents special exhibits featuring the culture and tradition of major heritage communities that have settled in southern New Jersey.
In the Studios, visitors watch artists demonstrate the art of glassmaking, ceramics and woodcarving throughout the day. The Center offers an extraordinary level of personal interaction with professional artists in a warm and inviting environment.
The Center also operates award-winning Museum Stores on its idyllic setting that is its own attraction. Guests discover an extraordinary shopping experience in the General Store, Brownstone Emporium Boutique, Paperweight Shop, Christmas Shop and The Gallery of Fine Craft. A wide array of one-of-a-kind gifts and treasures ranging from penny candy to traditional and contemporary art and craft in all mediums are available year round.
The Creative Glass Center of America, a well respected artist residency program, has hosted 360 Fellows, in one of the nation’s first public-access, amphitheater-style hot glass studios. CGCA with other studio programs exemplify a dynamic community of resident and guest artists from around the world, who share skills and vision with public audiences, and provide unique educational programming for both children and adults.
WheatonArts presents special exhibitions, programs, workshops, performances and several weekend festivals throughout the year.
The onsite Sweets Suite Bake Shoppe Café offers a variety of delicious sandwiches made fresh to order, soups, brownies, scones, cupcakes, muffins, ice cream and beverages.
