| Description | Philipsburg, Montana is a great place to visit any time of the year. Located about half-way between Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park, Philipsburg makes a great stop on your National Park vacation.
But Philipsburg, MT is not just a great place for an overnight stay when driving Montana's scenic highways between Glacier and Yellowstone, but a great place to spend a day or two on its own. You can visit several ghost towns in the surrounding mountains, view wildlife and birds, mine your own Montana Sapphires in one of Philipsburg's mining shops, or take scenic Montana mountain drives any time of year. During the summer you can fish on Georgetown Lake or Flint Creek, waterski on Georgetown Lake, or go for a hike in the mountains. Visit Philipsburg in the spring to see the wildflowers in bloom and maybe see baby animals scampering after their mothers. The fall in Philipsburg, MT offers hunting and tracking opportunities (both guided and unguided), and beautiful fall colors along Flint Creek. Winter offers kiteboarding on Georgetown Lake, ice fishing, alpine skiing at Discovery Ski Area, and many opportunities for cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, or snowmobiling.
