Description	The Virginia Museum of Transportation is home to a nationally important collection of transportation artifacts located in the historic Norfolk & Western freight station. On exhibit are the N&W Class J 611 and N&W Class A 1218 steam locomotives, each the only one of its class in existence today. Also on exhibit are carriages, wagons, aviation equipment, trolley bus, a 4-tiered O-gauge model train with multiple viewing levels and the Star Station playground for children. Until Dec. 30, 2004, our changing exhibitions gallery has an exhibit of quilts made by family members of railroad workers called "Stitch in Time". The next exhibit to open in February, 2005 is of Museum archival photographs called "Images of Rail - Norfolk & Western Railway".
