Located along the Minnesota River, Shakopee is home to Valleyfair Amusement Park, Canterbury Park Horse Track and Card Casino, and the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Mystic Lake Casino has numerous concerts and other live acts at their beautiful Mystic Showroom. During the summer, there are outdoor concerts at both Mystic Lake Casino, and Canterbury Park.
Shakopee is home to River Valley Theatre Company, a local theatre group. Also, Shakopee is near Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, which is the largest dinner theatre in the nation.
