From our music in the park concert series, various public museums, and shopping centers we offer a wide variety of entertainment opportunities. No activity day would be complete without checking out one of the many unique dining opportunities where you can enjoy a range of cuisine from a traditional Wisconsin supper club fish fry to taverns and grills with great burgers and sandwiches.

Throughout the year Douglas County plays host to various festivals and events like the Lake Superior Dragon Boat festival, the Head of the Lakes Fair, Music in the Park at Lucius Woods County Park, or racing at Amsoil Speedway.

Transportation



Superior, the largest city in Douglas County, partners with Duluth, Minnesota for busing with the Duluth Transit Authority. Superior is within a 15-20 minute drive from the Duluth International Airport.

Best Time To Go:

Summer and fall.

Summers are warm and beautiful, perfect for fishing, swimming and all outdoor activities. In fall we celebrate the changing colors with various local festivals and street dances. Winters are generally snowy and cold, which is perfect for our skiing and snowmobiling trails. Spring brings the cycle full circle with fishing and camping openers and various festivals and events.
