DescriptionTibbits was named "one of 10 Great Places to See the Lights Way Off Broadway" by USA TODAY, July 15, 2005.

Built in 1882, the Tibbits Opera House is among the oldest theatres in Michigan. Rich in history and ambiance, the theatre even today offers theatre-goers nearly perfect acoustics, an intimate 499-seat setting, and a fine array of performances throughout the year. While the restoration of the theatre is a work in progress, its exquisite French Second Empire facade was completed in 2013.

Tibbits has developed an outstanding reputation for its Summer Theatre, which brings in thousands of people each year for professional productions by its resident summer stock company. It also boasts an Entertainment Series which has featured notable guests like Jeff Daniels, Heywood Banks, and Ed Asner. Tibbits is also a prime venue for community events such as school graduations and plays, band and choir concerts, church services, weddings, and more.
