Description | Join us this Halloween season as Kittery’s own award-winning Threshold Stage Company presents William Goldman’s theatrical adaptation of Stephen King’s best-selling novel, “Misery”
When novelist Paul Sheldon is rescued from his mangled car by “his Number One Fan”, Annie Wilkes; her fanatical obsession with Paul and his famous literary character Misery Chastain, takes a dark and disturbing turn. Isolated from the world and totally dependent on Annie for his recovery and survival, Sheldon must fight and write for his life as Annie becomes more and more unhinged.
“There are no lulls in famed screenwriter William Goldman’s 90-minute stage adaptation of the Stephen King story, which Goldman himself translated into the 1990 film starring Kathy Bates and James Caan. Exposition that took a dozen pages in paperback plays out - faster than snow piling up in a Colorado blizzard.” — NBC New York.
