Its the USAs largest living museum -- full of costumed colonials, historic buildings, one-of-a-kind shops and reenactments of life in the original 13 colonies. Stop at the visitors center to purchase a day pass and youre ready to time travel. Paramounts Kings Dominion theme park in Doswell, Virginia, is also close enough for an outing. In addition to roller coasters and other thrill rides, the park specializes in facsimile sights, including a replica of the Eiffel Tower.
