Average Richmond Weather
Yes, Virginia is in the south, but winter still requires a coat. December, January, and February are chilly with average lows dipping into the high 20s. April, May, and October are pleasantly warm with high temperatures averaging in the 70s and lows usually staying in the 50s or high 40s. From June through September the average highs are in the 80s. July sees the most rain with an annual average of five inches during the month.

Transportation
Air Ontario Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Comair, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Trans States Airlines, TWA, United, and US Airways all serve Richmond International Airport. Groome Transportation (804-222-7222) sedans are available curbside outside of baggage claim from first flight departure to last flight arrival. If you are renting a car youll find Dollar, Thrifty, National, Avis and Hertz at the airport. Richmond is a drivers city. Buses and trolleys do exist, but they run limited routes and are so underused that most locals wouldnt be able to give you directions if you wander off course.

In-Season Costs
You can spend in excess of $200 to stay at a historic five star hotel. However, most business travelers may prefer a center city spot in the $100 range. Bargain digs are available if you look and book in advance. You can find lodging in the $60 range. Richmond has an unusual restaurant scene. While you can easily spend $50 on a gourmet blow out, $20 would be closer to the norm for a business dinner and you can get out for considerably less in area ethnic eateries. Richmond has most of the familiar fast food and moderately priced chain restaurants.

Virginia Tourism - Richmond Attractions, Activities and Day Trips
Williamsburg, Virginia, is a must-do day trip. Its the USAs largest living museum -- full of costumed colonials, historic buildings, one-of-a-kind shops and reenactments of life in the original 13 colonies. Stop at the visitors center to purchase a day pass and youre ready to time travel.

Paramounts Kings Dominion theme park in Doswell, Virginia, is also close enough for an outing. In addition to roller coasters and other thrill rides, the park specializes in facsimile sights, including a replica of the Eiffel Tower.
