Fantasic opportunites for outdoor recreation surround a medium size University Town of 120K residents in Eugene and another 55K in neighboring Springfield.. The college influence makes for progressive attitudes and helps promote appreciation and access to cultural events, music events and art festivals. Two major rivers flow through the metro area and provide for all sorts of associated activities, i.e. boating, Kayaking, canoeing, world-class fishing, wildlife viewing, etc. I winter, snowboarding & skiing are an hour away, but the summer and fall seasons are loaded with events and festivals to attend. The town is famous for its beautiful bicycle trails along a greenbelt preseve of seven contiguous city parks that straddle the Willamette River which flows past the Universty of Oregon as well as the downtown.
