Description | The Scott Arboretum, the 300 acre campus of Swarthmore College, exhibits over 4,000 kinds of ornamental plants, displaying some of the best trees, shurbs, vines, and perennails for the Delaware Valley. Established in 1929 as a living memorial to Arthur Hoyt Scott, the mission of the Arboretum is to display plants suited for home gardeners in the local area and to educate the public. The Arboretum's gardens and area of specail interest include the Biostream, Cosby Courtyard, Dean Bond Rose Garden, Harry Wood Courtyard Garden, Metasequoia Allee, Scott Outdoor Amphitheater, and the Theresa Lang Garden of Fragrance. |
