DescriptionFounded in 1889, the New Canaan Historical Society brings together and arranges the historical events of the town of New Canaan and its families' genealogical records to collect relics of the past and form a library and museum. Come experience our museums and exhibitions and participate in our lectures and events. Whether you are a lover of new Canaan history specifically, or history in general, the extensive library and collections have something to appeal to everyone.

On the grounds of The Historical Society is the Town House, The Cody Drug Store, The Hanford-Silliman House, The Tool Museum, The Rock School House and The John Rogers Studio (A National Landmark). The Little Red School House and the Gores Pavilion are in separate locations. An appointment is recommended for a tour of the grounds.
