Description | The Civil War Museum is located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Michigan between Chicago and Milwaukee. Through the use of personal stories and an immersive exhibit, the museum focuses on the Civil War from the perspective of the people of the seven states of the Upper Middle West - Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. These seven states sent more than one million men to serve in the Union army while also providing much of the food and raw materials necessary for the Northern states to carry on the war.
In addition to amazing view of Lake Michigan, the Museum has free parking, a gift shop and several programs and events throughout the year. The museum is also located within walking distance of two other museums, dining, shopping and the city's historic electric streetcar. |
