Jewell St. at the Memorial Arch. Intricately hand-carved carousel created by Solomon Stein and Harry Goldstein in 1914 with 48 horses, 2 lovers' chariots, a myriad of beautiful stained glass windows depicting the changing seasons, mirrors reflecting 800 twinkling light bulbs, and a finely tuned Wurlitzer band organ. Seasonal: Open May through October; Tues.-Sun., 11am-5pm; September and October; Thurs.-Sun.,
11:00 am-5pm; open for First Night Hartford, December 31st, 2:00 pm-12:00 am. Closed Mon. Available for private rentals, birthday parties and Spin & Learn educational programs. $1.00 per ride.
