Creating comm\unity\....
Dear Friends in music,

Great music, like a mirror reflecting the constellation of human emotions, can guide us to our innermost feelings or transport us out of ourselves, making us more keenly aware of our shared humanity.

It is with great excitement that I invite you to join us on a musical journey in which we plumb the solitude, even the loneliness, of human individualism, while affirming music's power to bring us all together - to create community!
~ Leif Bjaland, Music Director and Conductor

Pyotr Iiyich Tchaikovsky — Piano Concerto No. 1,
Op. 23, Bb minor, Soloist: Gleb Ivanov
Symphony No. 6, Op. 74, B minor

The New York Timeswrote: Gleb Ivanov “is a cut above the usual, a young super-virtuoso, with musical sensitivity and an appreciation of style to go with the thunder and lightning.” He has been thrilling audiences in recital and orchestra engagements; this season he plays with Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra, the Auburn Symphony Orchestra, the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra, and the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, and performs recitals at University of Florida Performing Arts and on the Summer Stars Series in Ocean Grove. Mr. Ivanov appears in a special program at Bargemusic performing Prokofiev’s War Sonatas...more
