The film Shoplifters won three Mainichi Film Awards, including Best Film, and the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Feature Film, and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars and the Golden Globes. The discussion of the film will be lead by Dr. Rekha Datta, professor in the department of Political Science and Dr. Frank Cipriani, specialist professor in the department of World Languages and Literature.
