| Description | Explore one of Greater Rochester’s most popular family attractions next time you are in town. Nestled within 15.5 acres along the Genesee River, a visit to the Seneca Park Zoo is like a visit to your favorite park.
Did you know that the Seneca Park Zoo is home to New York State’s only two African elephants? Genny C and Lilac have been mainstays at our Zoo since 1979! While visiting them, keep an eye on their neighbors, a curious troop of olive baboons who are always exploring. Embrace the Rocky Coasts with a visit to this must-see exhibit that is home to our polar bears and sea lions. Don’t let the little ones leave before crawling through a tunnel for an up-close and personal view of our beautiful cougar. Your experience will not be complete until you visit with New York State’s only Bornean orangutans and white rhinoceroses. And, as always, be sure to say hello to our meerkats and snow leopards.
Hours, which are subject to change without notice, are: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily April 1 to October 31 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily November 1 to March 31. You may stay on grounds one hour after closing. The Zoo is closed the first Saturday in June for Zoobilation (the Zoo’s largest annual fundraiser), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
