Excellent! | We have gone down the saco river for the last ten years with groups ranging from 8 to 20 people in ages 18 to 60
We love it, and start planning next years trip before we're off the river.
We're use to the drunks and the only bad thing is the trash left on the beaches. We ALWAYS take our trash out
(tow it on a tube behind you ) and have stoppped to put out fires left burning ( come on!!! the rivers right there, FREE water!!) Other then that, we will go till they tell us we can't, and if people don't smarten up,it won't be much longer.

Very Good | I would have to agree... on the weekends it can be a bit congested with mostly college aged, drunken crazy kids (most of whom I would bet are underage). It is still a great, smooth, and fun trip... but not one I would bring my young child on with me, at least not the crazy weekends.
I would like to mention that there should be more done to try keeping the beaches and water cleaner. There is way too much disrespect from these kids who just don't care. Each trip I am reminded of an old anti-litter campaign commercial from the 70's, I see an American Indian staring out at the garbage on every shore with a tear running down his cheek.
PLEASE Throw out your garbage at the dumpsters at each bridge! Don't leave them on the beaches!
Saco River Canoe has a great staff you can count on to get you down the river safely and respectfully. Thanks! | Young couple | 08-06-08 |
