DescriptionArt Dimensions Online is proud to present Residence II, a group show running for one week at Open Mind Art Space in West Los Angeles from Saturday, May 19 through Friday, May 25, 2018. The pop-up exhibition – which will include drawings, photographs, paintings and prints – will feature the work of four contemporary Los Angeles artists: Laddie John Dill, Christina Hale, Brian Hodges and Dave Zarick. An opening night reception will launch the group show on the 19th from 6:00 to 9:00pm with several of the artists in attendance. Open Mind Art Space is located at 11631 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90025. For more information, please visit http://www.openmindartspace.com/calendar/2018/5/19/opening-reception-for-pop-up-exhibition.

In 2011, the first Residence group show was conceived and curated by Christina Hale, one of Art Dimensions most versatile artists. Residence II was curated by Hale and Whitney Rosenson, the second generation owner of Art Dimensions Online, who works hard to help artists make a sustainable living with their art. 2018 marks the 30-year anniversary of this family-owned and female-operated business that specializes in the sale and leasing of contemporary visual art. “The goal of my company, and exhibits like this, is to promote the arts to a wider audience and to help both emerging and established artists find homes for their work,” says Rosenson.

Residence II will feature art that has never been exhibited before – such as Dill’s pieces – along with newer work from Hale, Hodges and the late Dave Zarick. Zarick’s original acrylics on paper, as well as original works on canvas, will be on view. A series of fine art portraits and landscape photography pulled from Hodges’ portfolio of award-winning international humanitarian and travel projects shall be displayed. Christina Hale’s body of work has primarily encompassed painting and drawing. In the last few years, however, screen printing has become part of her process. This collection will include both Hale’s drawings and screen prints.

Laddie John Dill, known for his stunning cement, glass and oxide process, will present a collection of monotypes, monotypes with hand painting, lithographs and silkscreens from the 1970s to the 1990s. This is an exclusive opportunity to collect his rarely exhibited prints. “Having been on both sides of the press,” Dill explains, “I feel that my experience with printmaking is a collaboration between the printer and the artist. A good printer can alleviate the artist of the technical problems involved in getting a good print so that the artist can concentrate on the creative act.”
