| Description | Award winning QNEK presents outstanding theatre productions during the active season at the internationally famous Haskell Opera House, which straddles the US-Canadian border at Derby Line, Vermont, and Stanstead, Quebec. The only Opera House in the world that sits in two countris. The actors are on-stage in Canada, much of the audience sits in the United States. Founded in 1993 by Lynn Leimer, QNEK has become a local legend in the North Country and has been featured in countless media forums such as Yankee Magazine, VPR, and the Boston Globe. As the Resident Theatre Company, performances are mounted May through Setpember and the company tours on the off-season. Highlighted by the North Country Chamber of Commerce as one of the TOP TEN reasons to visit the region, QNEK's is known for comedy, drama, musicals and world premieres. |
