DescriptionNature Discovery Center Opens
Discover the hidden secrets of nature at the Nature Discovery Center in Warner. Now open for the season, the Nature Discovery Center (formerly The Little Nature Museum), offers hands-on interactive displays and activities that teach children and adults about the many plants, creatures and minerals in our environment.

Learn about wildlife, sea life, insects and reptiles. Heft a dinosaur bone or a whale's tooth. Feel the fur of animals and the shell of an armadillo or a turtle. If you've visited the nature center before, you'll find new activities and displays each year. New this year are reptiles, colorful minerals and interactive nature photography.

Each child will receive an activity sheet they'll use to test their knowledge of animal tracks, bears, birds and bats. Can they identify poison ivy? Who are our pollinators? For every four activities they try, they'll receive a free nature prize. This will keep them absorbed as they learn for well over an hour.

Stretch your legs with a hike along the peaceful Medicine Woods nature trail and discover what thrives there. Stop at the pollinator garden that buzzes with activity. How many pollinators can you identify? Sign up for the one of our outdoor classes. More details are available on: ndcnh.org.

As a Blue Star Museum, the Nature Discovery Center proudly offers free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Nature Discovery Center is located at 18 Highlawn Road in Warner, just off Kearsarge Mountain Road, and adjacent to the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum. It is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from late May through October. More information and specific hours may be found on the website: ndcnh.org, or by calling 603-746-6121.
