| Description | The National Balloon Museum dedicates itself to providing the public with a comprehensive understanding of ballooning and its history through its exhibitions and collections. The museum archives more than 200 years of ballooning, hosts 6,000 visitors a year (with 20 countries in attendance).We have memorobilia from Gas, hot air , Zepplins, airship and smoke balloons from the early days up to the present.
We have a aviation research library, Children's Learning Area,theater, Women in Ballooning Exhibit, Scale Model balloon exhibit.
We have our Hall pf Fame Induction the first Sunday of the National Balloon Classic--usually the last Sunday in July.
We are handicapped accessible and we have wheelchairs to use if needed.
We have an extensive balloon pin and trading card collection as well as many one of a kind experimental balloons.
Tours are offered just call ahead. We are flexible with our hours--if you call ahead on a time we are closed we will try to meet your schedule. Come an enjoy learning about the"Beginning of the Space Age!" |
