DescriptionThe G.A.R. Hall was built in 1885 by Civil War Veterans as their meeting room, and was immediately given to the city of Litchfield with the provision it be kept as a Memorial "Forever". It is kept looking as it did in the years they met in this facility.
The Meeker County Museum was added in 1961 to the back of the G.A.R. Hall. This two story building has an amazing selection of items from the early prarie years including a cabin built in 1868, many displays of historical items, and a memorial for each conflict involving the United States.
